Eliminating Migraine Headaches

Migraine headache sufferers can reduce or eliminate their migraine headaches by getting the proper amount of quality sleep. The chemical serotonin produced by the body is dependent on sleep and has been called the "feel good" chemical of the brain. Many people who have poor sleeping patterns will find that the body cannot produce this chemical without it and thus could end up suffering from a migraine attack.

Sleep quality is depended on certain factors being controlled or eliminated and they are stress, drugs and medications and noise. These things when under control can allow one to get the proper quality of rest that they need.

Lighting can also affect sleep quality and one cannot get good quality sleep with the lights on even if they think that this does not affect them. Turn off all the lights including the TV for a good quality night's sleep.

There are those who have slept by having the TV on for many years and it is a hard habit to break. If one must have the TV on to fall asleep they should make sure to set the timer so that it goes off after about an hour. Once asleep the subconscious mind is aware of sounds and lights and when these things are eliminated the body can get the proper rest that it needs.

Stress is an element in our lives than can be difficult to eliminate but it can be reduced tremendously with the proper amount of exercise. Exercise has been known to be a great stress reducer.

If you get the right amount of exercise before sunset each day you can get a good quality of sleep at night. Do not, however, exercise just before bedtime as you may have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep.

Certain medications can have their effects on our sleeping patterns. If you must take medication consult with your doctor about its effects on your sleep and if necessary the doctor will have you take them earlier in the day to reduce their effect on sleep. Caffeine is common drug that affects our sleep as well.

Reducing or eliminating caffeine consumption can greatly improve sleeping patterns. Do not consume caffeinated beverages after dinner and if you suffer from migraine headaches, caffeine has been known to trigger them, so eliminating or lessening consumption of it can help.

Sinus Headache Symptoms - The Complete Guide

A person suffering from sinus headache symptoms have their own personal misery to put up with. Sinus headaches can cause a pressure like feeling of pain behind the eyes or other parts of the face. These have been mistaken for a migraine or a tension headache that can feel very similar.

When located in the head and face area it can be like a throbbing pain. The area which is affected is behind the nose, cheeks and eyes where the air moves through and this becomes inflamed. The area which has become inflamed can be filled with mucus due to several types of ailments.
These ailments can be an illness which causes a low or medium grade fever such as a running or dripping nose accompanied by a sore throat. A heavy yellow or green mucus discharge is another ailment which is from a cold or an infection and congestion from a bad cold or flu. Occurring with this can be a feeling of being unwell and quite tired.

A sinus headache may be felt without these other cold and flu like symptoms. Some of the other symptoms may be a face which is tender and sore when touched, any sudden movement of the head and bending over makes the pain worse. Sometimes when getting up in the morning the pain will feel worse due to the congestion with the mucus which has collected overnight.

Most times the problems will start when a cold begins or just after it is almost gone. When there is congestion in the face cavity this is usually the start of the headaches. It may also be aggravated if moving from a warm room to a cold one or going into cold air.

Sometimes there may be problems with hay fever allergies or asthma which may bring it on. It could increase after a day of swimming or diving especially in someone who is often prone to sinus headaches. When the sinus areas get blocked up bacteria, fungus and viruses find it particularly good place to multiply in.

When finding something that is used or eaten which appears to aggravate the infection then it might be worth steering clear of this particular thing. There could be something in the food eaten or in the environment which helps cause an allergy. Perhaps if a healthy diet is eaten with plenty of vegetables and fruit then the colds and flu which are part of the problem may be minimized and there may be less episodes of this type of headache.
